The Genesis of a Community

From a Shared Dream to a Thriving Reality

The story of Srisailam Colony is one of vision, dedication, and community spirit. It began in the mid-1980s with a collective ambition held by the members of The Project Employees Co-operative House Building Society Limited (Reg. No: I/2743). Their goal was not just to acquire land, but to build a future—a carefully planned, self-sufficient enclave for their families.

Between September 1985 and March 1986, this vision took its first concrete step. The society successfully acquired a sprawling 31.88½ acres in Vengalayapalem, a location chosen for its potential and promise.

A pivotal moment arrived on 26th October 1987, when the layout plan received official approval from the Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Urban Development Authority (VGTUDA). This was more than a formality; it was a guarantee that Srisailam Colony would be a development built on a foundation of sound planning and regulatory compliance, ensuring a secure investment for every member. The approved plan laid out not just residential plots, but a blueprint for a complete lifestyle, with designated areas for parks, a temple, and a layout of wide 30-ft and 40-ft roads.

Today, the legacy of that dream is carried forward by a new, unanimously elected Managing Committee for the 2025-2029 term. They are dedicated to protecting the founding principles of the community and ensuring that Srisailam Colony continues to be a cherished home for generations to come.
